SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener is one of the most thoroughly tested food additives

Sucralose, the sweetening ingredient in SPLENDA® Brand Products, was discovered in 1976, and for the next 20 years was subjected to one of the most extensive and thorough safety testing programs ever conducted on a food additive.

In 1990, the safety of SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener was confirmed by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations/World Health Organization (WHO) Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA). Now over 40 regulatory agencies worldwide have permitted the use of sucralose, including Health Canada and the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Sucralose is suitable for use by the whole family, including children, women who are nursing or pregnant, and people with diabetes.

Today, SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener is permitted for use in more than 80 countries, is enjoyed by millions of people worldwide, and is the no calorie sweetener of choice in more than 4,500 foods and beverages.
