Chocolate Pear & Almond Tarts

Ingredients

1 14oz (398 mL) can of pear halves, drained

54 2’ (5 cm) mini tart shells, precooked for 10 minutes 

1/2 cup (125 mL) milk

1/2 cup (125 mL) 18% cream

1 egg

1 tsp. (5 mL) almond extract

1/4 cup (60 mL) flour

1/4 cup (60 mL) ground almonds

1/4 cup (60 mL) SPLENDA® Brand Brown Sugar Blend

2/3 cup (160 mL) chocolate chips




Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)

Dry pear halves and cut into thin slices.  Place two slices of pear in each precooked tart shell and set aside. 

In a bowl, whisk eggs then add milk, cream and almond extract until blended: pour mixture into tart shells until almost filled.

In another bowl, mix SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend, flour, ground almonds and chocolate chips.  Spoon mixture on tarts and bake for 20-25 min.
