Sugar Pie Recipe

Crust:
Preheat oven to 390°F.
Mix dry ingredients for the pie crust in a large bowl.
Cut in chilled butter and combine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add water gradually until the dough is not too dry and holds together (Pinching a small piece of dough between your fingers is a good method for testing the proper consistency of the dough. If the dough holds together, it is ready).
Divide dough into two balls and roll both out on a floured surface to fit into 10” pie dish.
Place one dough circle into pie dish.
Cut second crust into 6 to 8 strips to crisscross over pie filling.
Filling:
Preheat oven to 390°F.
Melt butter slowly in a small saucepan pan.
Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl.
Stir in melted butter.
Pour mixture into pie dish.
Weave dough strips in a crisscross pattern on pie.
Bake at 390°F for 45 minutes or until crust is golden.
